Pinot Noir, like Chardonnay, is a grape variety native to the Burgundy and Champagne regions (Côtes de Nuit).
Contrary to Chardonnay, it has been relatively little exported to the so-called "New World" regions.
The terroir of Saint Honorat Island is suitable for producing Pinot Noir of fine quality.

The Abbey of Lérins has deliberately opted for innovation. This new cuvée gives a wine that is both fine and complex. Unique and singular, the Saint Eucher cuvée is made from young Pinot Noir grapes, which gives it freshness and roundness.
Tasting notes by fr Marie, cellar master
A delicate carmine colour with ruby highlights adorns this cuvée. The first nose is brilliant. Intense aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and green pepper. Worn to the lips, this fine beverage reveals a delight of fleshy fruits, a greedy freshness. The silky tannins of a racy and unique pinot noir matured under the Mediterranean sun, a tribute to the distant Burgundian hillsides sublimated by the Cistercian monks.
